World Breastfeeding Week Around the World: New Zealand 11 WBW in other countries

The Nelson Region Breastfeeding Network

The Nelson Region Breastfeeding Network is an organisation which supports and promotes breastfeeding in the Nelson Tasman area. Members include employees of Nelson Marlborough DHB, Nelson Bays PHO, The Plunket Society and members of La Leche League.

The purpose of our present 'The Art of Breastfeeding' promotion is to raise awareness of breastfeeding in the community. The art exhibition and auction coincides with World Breastfeeding Week.

Nelson Region Breastfeeding Network is pleased to present

The Art Of Breastfeeding

an exhibition of Breast Related Art created by local artists.

The artwork is on display at Refinery Gallery Halifax Street Nelson from 17 July to 5th August, and will be auctioned commencing with free wine & nibbles at 3pm on Saturday 5th of August at Refinery. The event is to celebrate International Breastfeeding Week, 31 July - 5 August 2006.

In addition, The WOW and Classic Car Museum are displaying a selection of Bizarre Bras during International Breastfeeding Week. The Nelson Region Breastfeeding Network thanks both of these organisations for their support.

	The World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) is a global network of individuals and organisations concerned with the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding worldwide. WABA action is based on the Innocenti Declaration, the Ten Links for Nurturing the Future and the Global Strategy for Infant & Young Child Feeding.
