World Breastfeeding Week Around the World: Nigeria   World Breastfeeding Week in other countries

Nigeria: LINKAGES supported World Breastfeeding Week in Lagos State by printing pamphlets on the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. LINKAGES and other partners were recognized in a press conference by the State Commissioner for Health.
World Breastfeeding Week 2006 (August 1-7) marked the 25th anniversary of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes. To date, more than 60 governments have enacted all or many of the provisions of the Code as law. The Code aims to protect and promote breastfeeding by prohibiting the advertising and aggressive marketing of breastmilk substitutes, feeding bottles, and teats. LINKAGES was involved in World Breastfeeding Week in several countries.
