The Puerto Rico Breastfeeding Coalition announces the celebration of World Breastfeeding Week in Puerto Rico from July 31 to August 6, 2006, in Plaza Las Américas Mall. The chosen theme for this year is: “Code Watch: 25 years of Protecting breastfeeding”. During the week we will have exhibitors, conferences, and a breastfeeding room. A prize will be awarded to the most original breastfeeding mother photograph in the competition “This is how I breastfeed”. The Puerto Rico Breastfeeding Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and orientation of women and their families on the practice of breastfeeding as the alternative for excellence in infant nutrition. The C-Lacta Breastfeeding Coalition, Inc., a network of individuals and organizations which share the unique mission of protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding in Puerto Rico, joins the great world celebration of Breastfeeding Week with the following activities:

       July 31, 2006 – a “Human Bond” for breastfeeding – Mayagüez Mall Parking Lot – 9:00am (please wear white)
       IV Breastfeeding Festival – August 1, 2006 – San Germán Convention Center – 9:00am – 12:00 noon
       August 2-7, 2006 – Fair of the Friends of Breastfeeding and La Leche League International – inside Mayagüez Mall – exhibits, breastfeeding orientation, consultations, educational materials, movies, books…
       August 1-7, 2006 – at Borders in Mayagüez Mall – several lectures on breastfeeding topics.
