The Informative Breastfeeding
Service (TIBS) of Trinidad and Tobago
The Informative Breastfeeding Service (TIBS) of Trinidad and Tobago was
founded in 1977 to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. We work
to encourage and support mothers to make the best decision for their
babies' health ,that is, to give them breastmilk exclusively for their
first six months of life and to continue breastfeding after solid food
is introduced up to two years of age and beyond. TIBS works to create in
all communities an awareness of the importance of human milk. TIBS has
trained breastfeeding counsellors who provide support to mothers.
TIBS supports The International Code of
Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and does not accept sponsorship from
companies who manufacture and market products covered by the Code.
